You know it’s been a good night when you wake up and find that:

• The contents of your handbag are distributed in an erratic line between the front gate (where you fell out of the taxi), the kitchen, bathroom and floor of your bedroom
• Dog #1 is using your best coat as a bed
• Dog#2’s normally white markings match your lipstick
• Dog#3 has control of the pillows
• The milkman looks nervous
• The fridge door is still open from last night and the dogs are looking suspiciously smug
• You’ve still got one shoe on and dog#3 has digested most of the other
• You’ve got your pj bottoms and your best top on
• The post man has left the country.
